Hi Fred,

Just wanted to leave you a quick note to say it was awesome to meet with you last night. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Oromocto, and your day with Mike and the children. I continually read your blog, and am quite amazed at just how much you have accomplished on your own. Happy trails for the rest of your tour, and now that you have our email address, please keep in contact, you never know when our paths may cross again.

Yours in Scouting

That Mad Moose lodge is the biggest disgrace on Lake superior. I am very siuprised that you even mention it here on your Blog site.
The place is a dump, run by low lifes from the states. Suprised that the Health Unit allows them to continue their operation!
Suprised that you guys even stayed there!

We dropped in to that moose lodge last year to check out the accomodation. We departed 10 minutes later after seeing the conditions of the cabins. Looks like things have not changed there in a year.

Sounds like you had an interesting visit at the Mad Moose lodge. We had a "One day" visit such as your own with interesting critters in the toilet, as well as in our bedroom. Decided to pack up the next morning "early" while critters slept and find a descent place to stay with our family.

Fred,

I'm back from England, so I had two weeks of your blog to catch up on. It sounds as if you're still doing well. I was glad to read of all your precautions for riding in Ontario - it has been my experience that the road conditions for cyclists here are the worse than anywhere else.

It sounds like you had a pretty small carbon footprint until you started using bake beans as a fuel!

Ride safe.
