Today I helped Mark with a video he’s working on (about the 2nd Annual Nortel Technical Conference in Florida). I was the talent.

For the rest of the day I worked with Curriki. Amelia and I changed the Welcome page for the Career Bytes Group and then I made a new Collection for ‘Featured Content’ and put a bunch of content in there.

remember the time we got stuck in the parking garage . . .

Monday, June 30th, 2008

so this saturday while working a learnit event mark, liz and i were literally locked in the parking garage in the downtown office . . . that is until someone who worked in the building came up behind us, used his card, and opened the door. and i’d also like to mention mark had his emergency lights on in his car the whole time even though it was only our car behind him.

today:
-almost done with the video about how we came up with the idea for the scavenger hunt video but when i tried to save it both of my drives were full so i had to clean off two whole hard drives- that took pretty much all day
-i wrote up some new toolkit ideas

Saturday

Monday, June 30th, 2008

On Saturday, Amelia, Mark, Jason and I attended an OLPC monthly meeting that was help at the DC office. We’re hoping to make two videos out of the process. Amelia and I interviewed various people about their participation in the meeting and Mark shot B-roll and set everything up.

On our way out of the garage, after the meeting, we pulled an “Office” and got stuck in the parking garage. We called for help and after about 15 minutes or so, someone else came along and swiped their card. It turns out we weren’t stuck after all. Good job us!

Friday

I had some issues with my car this morning (basically I needed to go get my tires changes because the ones I ordered came in) so I was planning on coming into the office later. Then I realized that I could do what I needed from home so I didn’t come into the office today. I spoke with Mark on the phone about tomorrow’s OLPC event and let him know what we’re trying to achieve with our videos. I also wrote out interview questions.

Reshoot Reshoot

Friday, June 27th, 2008

today when i got in a still couldnt get it to capture and i went over all the step again so me and mark did a bunch of different things to come try and find out what was wrong but we could find out why hd would capture to Premiere Pro CS3 so i couldnt get any of my footage so i had to reshoot all of it in dv. so i wasnt able to make the deadline for the video but i took the laptop home so i could work from home and try and finish it up.

Green Screen is a Go!

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

-Most importantly, Amelia and I ironed the entire green screen (because we were having trouble keying properly/correctly). Hopefully it’ll work now! :)

-Amelia and I tried deleting the current Adobe Premier Editing Software on ED3 (because it crashes every time) and re-installing it from scratch. We did this three times and still nothing. Then Amelia uploaded the same software to ED1 and it worked perfectly.

-I played around with Google Video Uploader and attempted to upload to Google again. Still not working.

-We had a team meeting and went over the ideas we had for promos with Julie and Michael. We also asked a bunch of questions on things we weren’t clear on. (By we I mean Amelia, Mike, Jason, Alex and I)

-Amelia and I successfully installed Dreamweaver on ED3 and played around with it and Curriki. (We were trying to figure out if code from Ezro would work in Dreamweaver and if it’s easier to update the HTML code in Curriki through Dreamweaver. It is. :D)

-Many little odds and ends things.
