The idea of older kids helping younger kids seems to be very beneficial for students to learn in a cooperative manner. The growth that David has witnessed through this collaborative endeavor is fantastic.

Where do you start go develop teachers that embrace teaching that enhances individuals rather than teaching curriculum? Of course, there's no right way to do that, but my concern is that teachers either wil not use the machine or will use it simply as an exchange for paper/pencil activities neither of which will accomplish the purpose for which the machines were developed.

I believe what you say. Assessments have determined scheduling in a building.

Empowering teachers to believe that learning is our mission and they determine effective curriculum for students.

Students must be given time to process, reflect, and correct in order to hard wire those neurons.

More learning takes place through failure than through success for all of us.

I know that in Birmigham we will need to have a commitment for goal -setting , action plans, and the establishment of learning communities for teachers with teachers and/or small student groups.
